The distance between Kigali and the entry gate of Akagera National Park spans around 110 kilometers, with a journey time of approximately two and a half hours.

Upon your arrival in Akagera, you will promptly embark on a game drive to observe the local fauna and appreciate the stunning landscape. Subsequently, you will proceed to your accommodation and partake in a midday meal. You are scheduled to embark on a one-hour boat excursion on Lake Ihema at precisely 2:30 PM. This lake is the largest in the park. The boat excursion provides spectacular vistas of hippos, crocodiles, and other fauna inhabiting the lake’s shores and islands.

Today, you have scheduled a morning game drive in Akagera National Park. To increase your chances of encountering a greater variety of wildlife and appreciating the stunning scenery, it is advisable to explore other game trails and expand your exploration to different regions of the park.

Afterwards, you will come back to the lodge for lunch and then have the rest of the day to relax and do as you please.

Embark on an exhilarating hot air balloon adventure over Akagera, commencing at 5:am. The flight duration is 45 minutes, and it allows access to remote regions of the park that are inaccessible by automobile. This provides an opportunity to enjoy stunning views of the awe-inspiring Akagera scenery and increases the chances of spotting a greater variety of animals. Following the balloon safari, you would proceed with the game drive.

Day 3  of 3 days akagera wildlife safaris embark on compressive  tour

On the third day of  3 days akagera wildlife safaris  we will embark on a comprehensive safari in Akagera National area and then leave the area.
You will partake in breakfast at 6am and go to check out and commence the full safari in Akagera National Park about 6.30am.

The duration of the game drive from the lodge/entrance in the south to the exit in the north of the park is 6 hours. You will traverse diverse environments including woods, wetlands, bushes, thickets, forest, and grassland, which will support a wide range of wildlife, culminating in your arrival at the Kilala plains in the northern region. The Kilala plains are picturesque, level savanna plains that serve as a grazing ground for a variety of species, including antelopes, buffaloes, and zebras. The diverse population of herbivorous animals in the Kilala plains renders it a preferred hunting habitat for carnivorous predators, making it an ideal location to observe lions, hyenas, and other predatory species. These plains are the primary region for observing animals in the park, which is essential to experience.

Once you have thoroughly explored the Kilala plains, you will enjoy a picnic lunch before leaving the park and returning to Kigali.
