Day 1; pickup to Akagera National Park
on the first day of 3 days gorilla trekking and Akagera wildlife safari Wake up very early in the morning after your breakfast at the hotel in Kigali, you will proceed to Akagera national park headquarters for a briefing. You will then head for a game drive around Lake Ihema, with other lining lakes which are surrounded with water birds, bizarre shoebill storks, among others. Game drives in Akagera reward you with lions, the beautifully blending hills with lowland swamps and waterbodies. You will have a chance to see the hippo pool, giraffe area and lakes which road up towards Birengero. Later, drive back to Kigali enjoying the beautiful surroundings and sceneries of Rwanda and Kigali at large.
Day 2 explore kigali city and genocide
After a leisure breakfast, the guide will take you through the itinerary of the day, and then hit the road through Kigali city where you will visit the genocide memorial which is a must visit in Kigali. In this place you will experience Rwanda’s painful past and the place is a humbling reminder to those present and also a place to honor those lost. This place contains bones of the people that were killed, graves and stones that include names of these dead people making the place emotional. Later, you will drive to Musanze where you will have your lunch, and later head to iby’iwachu village for cultural experience. This experience brings you close to the Rwandese ways of life by experiencing their way of life and local activities and beliefs for example, local doctors, brewery, way of dressing, cultural weddings among others which also requires participation of tourists which is a fun activity. Later, you will head to the lodge for dinner and a night.
Day 3 Gorilla trekking and departure
On the last day of 3 days gorilla trekking and Akagera wildlife safari In the morning after your hot tea, you will head to volcanoes national park headquarters where you will have a briefing about the rules and regulations of the park by the ranger guide of the national park. Here you will hit the rainforest which is hilly since it is located on the mountain, also rewarding you with evergreen surroundings, birds, other primates and a lot more which calls for photography. This activity has no specific time when finding the gorilla’s since sometimes they tend to be far away however, upon finding them, you have an hour with them to take pictures, study them and also be with them which is a life time experience for the tourists who choose to visit them. Later, you will drive back to Kigali to the airport for your flight.
