The first day of 2 Days Hiking Mount Bisoke safari, arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park:

During the first day of the 2 Days Hiking Mount Bisoke safari, our driving guide will pick you up and bring you to the park, which is located in the northwest of Rwanda. The drive should take approximately two to three hours, depending on your location. Along the trip, you’ll get to see gorgeous countryside, friendly locals, rolling hills, and traditional homesteads. When you get there, you’ll check into the lodge in time for lunch.

Visit the Twin Lakes: Following lunch, you will drive to the Twin Lakes, Lake Burera and Ruhondo, which are located between Musanze and the Ugandan border, where you will meet up with your driving guide. When you get to the twin lakes, you’ll be able to capture amazing pictures and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, terraced farmlands, local fishermen, and various bird species. You will make your way back to the lodge for dinner, leisure, and overnight after your tour of the twin lakes.

Day 2: Return to Kigali after hiking Mount Bisoke to the Crater Lake

Hike Mount Bisoke: On the final day of the 2 Days Hiking Mount Bisoke safari, your driving guide will pick you up from the lodge and take you to the park headquarters for a pre-hike briefing following an early breakfast. Following the briefing, you will be paired with an informed park guide who has firsthand experience with the mountain. You will then drive to the starting point, where you will receive a hiking stick and have the option to hire a porter, who will carry your backpack while hiking and assist you with pulling up steep hills. Climbing Mount Bisoke is a full-day activity that takes about six hours, including the two hours it takes to descend to the starting point. While trekking, you will pass through dense vegetation like bamboo, hypericum, and sub-alpine where you can see a variety of animals, including gorillas, buffaloes, elephants, and bird species. Once you reach the peak, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the Virunga mountain ranges and the crater lakes. You may also snap excellent pictures, enjoy a picnic lunch, and then begin your descent back to the starting point. When you arrive, your driver guide will either pick you up at any convenient location or arrange for a transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departing flight.
